At the MDTRC, we engage in cutting-edge multidisciplinary research aimed at better understanding critical implications of digital transformation. We are open to local and international collaborations with academic colleagues as well as organizations undergoing their own transformations.
We’re actively building collaborations and engaging with joint research projects with key partners and affiliates in academia and the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Some projects are eligible for securing additional funding from various grant bodies.
By supporting our executive and graduate educational programs, we aim to empower managers, employees, and students, building their capabilities to effectively manage and lead digital transformation.
Message from the Director
Welcome to the McMaster Digital Transformation Research Centre (MDTRC), where we make sense of the digital transformation that is affecting everything we do in our professional, educational, and personal lives. At this innovative facility, we leverage neuroscience tools and techniques to provide us with an understanding of how the use of technology impacts us. We gain a deep understanding of the user experience through the traditional and neurophysiological data we collect. Our goal is to expand knowledge of digital transformation opportunities and challenges to allow researchers to create rich and meaningful user experiences. We hope to collaborate with you soon.
Vision & Mission
The McMaster Digital Transformation Research Centre’s (MDTRC) vision is to become a self-sustaining world leading research centre and knowledge hub. We primarily focus on the leadership and management of digital transformation and its impact on people, organizations, and society.
The centre’s mission is to engage in innovative research projects that investigate the booming digital innovations that are prevailing through and transforming all aspects of our modern society. This timely and important research will lead to a fundamental shift in our understanding of the developing digital revolution and its challenges and opportunities, with far-reaching implications for managerial practice and society at large. Student and executive training at the MDTRC will contribute to the development of a unique breed of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) with specialized skill sets, enabling them to become the digital transformation leaders of tomorrow.
“On behalf of FutureVault I’d like to thank the entire MDTRC team for their collaboration and support. We approached MDTRC armed with feedback from our customers that we needed to address the usability of several key components of our product. We had data showing us our customers weren’t using a number of features in our software but needed a partner to help us uncover why. The MDTRC team stepped in to help us draft a test protocol, run usability testing in their state of the art lab and provided key data and insights that was critical to the enhancement of our software. I can’t stress how pleased FutureVault was with the end to end process, the collaborative nature of the MDTRC team and their help to secure government funding to support this important work.” – Luke Kyleman, former CTO FutureVault
